Joy Softball Team    details
Monday evenings in the summer
Fresh air, exercise and a great group of people to play co-ed 12" softball with. Joy participates with the McHenry County Church Softball League. All levels of players are encouraged to come out and PLAY BALL!

Men of Joy
Saturdays, 7:30 – 8:30 am
Place: Caribou Coffee in Carpentersville
Come out and join the guys for some eye opening coffee and maybe even some eye opening fellowship time. Really, just a group of guys hanging out, holding each other accountable and drinking some brew. Does it get any better than that?

We are women who grew up, starting in the 60’s (most of us have older children), who gather for fellowship, support, fun, and study.

Holy Scrappers
1st Saturday, 6-11ish pm
Place: Joy Community Ministry Center
Holy Scrappers is a group for people to get together and share some fellowship, some snacks and oh yes, scrap! This is a drop in group, feel free to come as often or as little as you like. Please bring a food item to donate to the LITH/Algonquin Food Pantry.

Tech Team    details
Sunday Mornings at 9:45 am
Place: Joy Community’s Ministry Center
If you have an interest in lights, sound and slide presentation or creation, then we have the group for you! The Tech Team is open to teens and adults who have an interest in assisting with the TECH end of Sunday Worship. This is a fun group that requires little training and you can vary your involvement as the shifts rotate.

Joy of Reading
Place: Joy Community’s Ministry Center
Joy of Reading is a Christian women's book discussion group. We normally meet the 1st and 3rd Sundays at 6-8 pm at Joy Community Ministry Center, however, during the summer we are not meeting on a regular basis.

WAG - Women’s Accountability Group
WAG is currently studying the book of Acts. WAG is a conference call format, discussing the questions the guide has to offer, and touching base with the group. Our next book will be "Falling for God". Starting the week of Please email for more information.

Men’s Accountability
Wednesday, 5:30-6:30 am
Place: Around the Clock Restaurant in Crystal Lake
Men's Accountability is a weekly, early morning (6am) meeting where men share lifes struggles.  In between meetings we read about 15 chapters of scripture, pray and attempt to be of use to God's Kingdom. Our gathering occures at a restruarant where we share breakfast.

Bible Study
Monday mornings
Place: Varies
Joy Bible Study is located in a home in Bull Valley. We meet for an hour or more usually Monday mornings. The group is doing an overview of the Bible. This group has a wide range of ages and all are welcome. Please email or call the church and speak with Paul for more information.

Worship Team
Tuesdays, 7-9 pm & Sunday Mornings
Place: Joy Community’s Ministry Center
Worship team is for people who feel that making music is partly their way of worshiping God. If you play an instrument (of any sort), or love to sing, then you could be part of a team that is dedicated to help leading worship every Sunday morning through song, scripture and prayer. Practices are held in the multi-purpose room every Wednesday from 7-9pm. No prior musical experience needed!

Friends of the Carpenter
Saturdays as decided
F.O.T.C. is a service oriented small group.  We are people who like power tools and helping the community.  We constructed a wheelchair ramp for a woman in Cary, helped build a home in McHenry and anchored the Katrina Relief Team. We usually work one Saturday a month.
